People's Postcode Lottery champ in WF2 0UJ Wakefield

Wakefield resident Linda Cholewa kick-started her week on a high, having received a surprise visit and a golden envelope from Street Prize Presenter Judie McCourt. And it was a double celebration for the 56 year old Silcoates Court resident, as Linda is not only our first winner in a WF postcode but also received the full £30000 Street Prize. There was a real feeling of festivity in Silcoat Court as nursery teacher Linda had the whole extended family over to share her good news. Savvy Linda and her husband - also a teacher - are planning to put the money towards their retirement. Wakefield in West Yorkshire is home to several of the Peoples Postcode Lotterys benefitting charities - Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust work across Yorkshire in conservation work and tackling issues as diverse as sustainable development, education and social exclusion. Yorkshire Wildlife Trust, another beneficiary, works tirelessly to protect local wildlife and make Yorkshires countryside a better place for wildlife and people. Postcode Trust project Yorkshire GAA Youth and Development has also received funding from the Lottery, allowing the group to increase participation in Gaelic Games in Yorkshire and increase young peoples levels of sport and physical activity. 23 winners in the Postcode Sector of WF2 0 also received prizes of £218 each, with 351 further winning tickets scooping additional prizes!
